Technology.

I'm jinxed at the minute.
Technology has got the hump with me. Stuff keeps going wrong.
My iphone died, it just refuses to charge.
My Nikon D70 is refusing to "see" any of my memory cards.
My mp3 player is freezing after playing for about 5 mins.
And to top it all my beloved hifi system joined in.
I went to adjust the volume on my Pathos Logo amp and just touched the volume control and the volume shot up to maximum and a painful high pitched scream came out of my lovely Sonus Faber Signums.
The upshot is one speaker has no bass now, and one channel on the amp is distorted.
Dear god of technology, I don't know what I did, but I'm sorry.

I keep forgetting I have this blog.
Then again, I keep forgetting a whole lot of things. Stuff I really should remember.
I should be doing something useful right now, but I've forgotten what it is.
Grrrr.

Holidays
We are just back from a very wet week camping in Wales.
Stayed 3 miles outside the very nice town of Machynlleth, site of the UK singlespeed champs back in, erm, er, 2005 I think, I'll dig out the t-shirt and check that date.
Katya was not impressed with the weather, we may not be camping in Wales again.

Rutland Water
We had an afternoon at Rutland Water yesterday.
The Osprey chicks are due to hatch any day now and the hide at Lydon was very busy.
I've seen the Ospreys before, the highlight of my day was seeing my first Waterail, a very pretty We also saw a huge Grass Snake swimming in one of the ponds, easily 4ft long.
A cool day.

Stoneage tools
When we stayed with Craig Watson, my father-in-law, we went hunting stone tools around Philippolis, Free State.
He has a great deal of knowledge of these tools and used to go collecting them with his brother Lyall Watson, the author of Supernature and numerous other books.
These tools were made and used by bushmen and can be found on the surface near rocky outcrops. It was great fun hunting for them and gave me a buzz finding something last handled around 70,000 yrs ago.
